Some weeks ago I installed Acronis True Image WD Edition to clone my system SSD and everything went fine. Did not uninstall it after cloning. The answer would be to boot the PC using the bootable Acronis rescue media and put the WD drive in place of the original internal drive. I used true image up until I had WDS setup. Very effective and straight forward cloning software. So if I just get a external caddy, stick the SSD in that.
